The ANATOMY OF GEORGE TOWN is a two-part workshop that looks comparatively at the Historical Urban Setting of the two George Towns Penang, Malaysia and Chennai, TamilNadu, India. The George Town of Penang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and entails with it a unique and a distinct character. The one in Chennai is a well-known business district with a throbbing pulse and was the starting point of British East India Company. The two workshops spaced two months apart aims to explore mapping the multi-sensory aspects of both George Towns. The workshop in Penang is from March 1 to March 5. The one in Chennai is from March 31st to April 4th, 2018.

The workshop will culminate in an Exhibition and Panel Discussion in Chennai, with the panel comprising experts from multidisciplinary fields and the findings will feed into a publication which will be published after the workshop. All participants will be awarded a certificate. It is conducted by RVS School of Change of RVS Padmavathy School of Architecture in collaboration with research organisations Archade Foundation, Pravara, Agam Sei, TISS, Namma veedu namma ooru
